PMI Türkiye in the First Half of 2025: Vision, Value, and Growing Together

As PMI Türkiye, we started 2025 with strong goals. As we leave the first half of the year behind, we take pride in turning into a community that grows not only through events but through the vision we have created and the impact we have made.
I would like to share with you the President's article from the 36th issue of Proje Yönetim Dünyası (Project Management World) magazine, published recently, which describes this journey.

As we leave the first half of 2025 behind, as the PMI Türkiye family we are growing this year with vision and impact, not just with activities, as we promised.
In this period when we define project management not only as a profession but as a transformation tool, we produce together and we grow together.

At the beginning of the year we set our strategic roadmap with our board meeting. To put these plans into action we grew our volunteer team and reached over 1700 members with the new membership model.

Our Membership Days, Agile Transformation workshops, Startup Summit, PMP/CAMP/ACP facilitation groups and our first in-person offline PGA events spread activity and impact across the country. Our Academy also made a significant contribution to this growth with training supported by quality content that supports the development of our volunteers.

PMI's new approach offered to the world this year, M.O.R.E. (Manage Perceptions, Ownership, Relentless Reassessment, Expand Perspective), now defines project success as follows:
"True success is creating value that exceeds the goal and the cost."

With this understanding we now focus not only on finishing work on time and on budget but on the value we create.
As the PMI Türkiye family we are expanding not only our event calendar but also our vision this year.
We are not about producing more content; we work for more meaningful, more effective, more lived projects. Because we now measure project success not only by outputs but by the value it creates.

Project managers are becoming indispensable to organizations as leaders with strategic thinking who manage change and contribute to business goals. This approach is also quickly gaining ground in our country. In universities, the private sector and public institutions, project management is now addressed not only with "how is it done?" but with "why is it done, what value does it produce?"

In this period we also made our voice heard in the international arena as PMI Türkiye.
By achieving the highest participation among chapters at the PMI Leadership Institute Meeting and Global Summit Europe Barcelona 2025 events held in Europe, we earned the appreciation of PMI Europe.

With our approach that facilitated the Single Membership transformation we were deemed worthy of the "Make it Easy" award.
This was not just an award; it was a success that showed what is possible with volunteering, belief and collaboration.

We are carrying this transformation across the country with our events; we are localizing PMI's global vision and making it easier for every individual on the project management journey to find their place.

All this work we have put forward in the first half of the year has created a strong structure that makes an impact, creates value and brings project management stakeholders together under the PMI Türkiye umbrella.
I am proud of this success.
I am very happy to walk together with our precious volunteers who made this possible and who work day and night.

And of course, the earthquake that occurred in Istanbul in recent months has deeply affected us all. I extend my get-well wishes to our citizens who lost their lives. I hope this tremor remains as a warning left behind, not a harbinger of a greater disaster.
